I was 32 years old, married with 3 year old and 1 year old at the time of my surgery. My weight was 123kg and I am 171cm tall. I am a non smoker and non drinker.
When I got married 13 years ago I weighted 72kg - during the first year of married life I put on approx 25kg, my weight has slowly crept up from there. I had yoyo dieted for around 10 years and not had any major long term success. I have tried EVERYTHING.

I want to be able to have fun with my children and watch them grow up. I needed to lose weight and get healthy for this to happen. After much "soul searching" I decided Lab Band surgery was the way to go for me.
For me the surgery was easy, Surgery on Wednesday out of hospital on Friday. On Saturday my family and I walked around Mount Maunganui. I haven't looked back since.
Wow life has changed - yes the before and after photos are the same person ME. It took me approximately 18 months to lose 53kg. I have gone from size 24/26 to 10/12. I am very happy with the results. I had found the confidence that I lost when I was overweight. I have taken up tap dancing and other forms of exercise I've not done for years, including swimming!! I'm not longer embarrassed to run around with my kids and go down the slide at the park with them.
People often ask me "don't you miss eating" my answer is NO, I can still eat, I just don't eat heaps. I still go out and enjoy myself. I would rather be healthy and look this way than sit down and "pig out".
If you are considering this type surgery my answer is GO FOR IT.
